Notability is an industry-leading note taking application; our mission is to bring the expressivity of paper to the digital realm, so people can learn, study, and collaborate together better. These values are reflected in the way we work: we value empathy for our users, great design, and believe the best ideas can come from anywhere.

We’re looking for a User Acquisition Manager to drive our next phase of growth. Reporting into the head of marketing, this role is ideal for a hands-on marketer with a passion for both mobile app growth (especially subscription apps) and SEO. You will play a key role in expanding Notability’s user base through paid campaigns and organic search strategies. If you’re data-driven, creative, and excited about scaling a product used by millions, we’d love to meet you!

This role is hybrid, with a minimum of two days (Tuesdays & Thursdays) onsite at our San Francisco office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Multi-Channel User Acquisition: Strategize and execute end-to-end user acquisition campaigns across multiple ad networks and platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta/Facebook, Apple Search Ads, etc.). Continuously experiment with new channels and creative approaches to drive app downloads and subscriptions.
  • SEO Strategy & Execution: Develop, implement, and optimize SEO strategies to drive organic web traffic, improve search rankings, and increase conversions on our website. Conduct keyword research, on-page optimization, and work on technical SEO improvements to boost our online visibility.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization: Analyze campaign performance metrics (CPA, CAC, LTV, ROI, retention, engagement) and user behavior data to identify trends and opportunities. Optimize campaigns and website content based on insights to improve ROI and user retention. Generate regular reports on acquisition performance and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the product, content, and analytics teams to align acquisition strategies with product launches, feature updates, and overall business goals. Coordinate with designers and content writers to produce high-performing ad creatives and landing pages.
  • Budget Management: Manage and allocate user acquisition budgets efficiently across paid media channels and organic growth initiatives. Continuously adjust spending to maximize impact while staying within budget constraints.
  • Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, algorithm changes (e.g., App Store/Play Store or Google search updates), and emerging advertising platforms. Identify new growth opportunities and best practices, implementing them to keep our strategies ahead of the curve.

What You Need:

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in mobile user acquisition, performance marketing, or digital marketing. Experience with subscription-based apps or SaaS products is highly preferred.
  • Paid UA Skills: Proven track record of managing paid user acquisition campaigns across multiple networks (Google Ads, Meta, Apple Search Ads, DSPs, etc.).
  • SEO Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SEO, including keyword research, content optimization, link-building basics, and technical SEO (familiarity with web analytics, site audits, and SEO tools).
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Proficient in data-driven decision-making using tools such as Google Analytics, App Store Connect/Google Play Console, and mobile attribution platforms (e.g., Singular, Adjust, or similar). Ability to A/B test effectively and interpret results.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. Able to adapt to evolving growth strategies and pivot quickly when learning new information. A proactive problem-solver who stays curious and innovative.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams. Capable of turning complex data insights into easily understandable reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a less structured environment.
