Notability is an industry-leading note taking application with expressive drawing capabilities that make full use of the power of the Apple Pencil and iPad Pro.

As a Senior Motion Designer, you will be a visual storyteller who brings Notability’s brand and message to life using motion graphics, animation, and graphic design. You will report to the Director of Design and collaborate closely with Marketing leaders to create impactful media that drives engagement and inspires.

This role is required to be on-site Tuesdays and Thursdays in our San Francisco office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create videos utilizing motion graphics paired with screen recordings and live usage video, for marketing, onboarding, and education campaigns.
  • Iterate through static and motion designs for rapid marketing campaign tests. Work closely with Marketing to optimize the designs based on performance and insights geared around user acquisition.
  • Be a significant part of our brand’s overall art and creative direction, in collaboration with the team’s visual design leaders. Develop new ideas for marketing designs, concepts for social campaigns.
  • Evolve and champion how the Notability brand expresses itself through motion and visual design. Further develop existing guidelines, create new systems, and work on processes to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Identify areas in our marketing, brand, or elsewhere to improve. Take initiative in seeking out opportunities to make an impact past immediate responsibilities.

What You Need:

  • 5+ years of experience designing motion graphics for marketing application across different platforms and mediums.
  • A dynamic portfolio showcasing imaginative motion graphics and strong graphic design skills. We need an eye for detail and compelling storytelling.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills — you’ll be collaborating and reviewing work frequently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate concepts, present storyboards, and convey design rationale.
  • Experience working independently, iterating quickly, and driving multiple projects at a time.
  • Bonus points: videography experience, ability to set up and shoot videos.

For this position we are targeting a base pay between $112,00.000-$169,000.00. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
